About Naty Matos

speakingHi, thanks for your visit to The Rising Muse. I’ve been writing since I was fourteen years old. In school I was able to compete in short stories and poetry competitions. I won some of those as well.  I’ve loved writing since I’ve had memory of myself. Life took over and I forgot to write and I felt something was missing from my life. Early this year (2009) I decided to write again and life came back to me. In my life journey I was attempting to write certain things, God reminded me why he gave me this talent, it was for his Glory and to inspire others. All my writing is inspirational, is what makes me thrive.

In September 2009, I won my first short story contest with, “The Janitor” published in the book Hope Whispers. In 2010 the essay “Obedience and Willingness” was published in the book Living Lessons. I have participated in NaNoWriMo in 2009 (The Road Home). Again in 2010 (Breaking Free and Lost Love on Christmas Day) 2011 (My Promise to Keep) 2012 (The Adultress) 2012 (Saving Paola) these are in editing process and will be published in God’s timing.

I finally published my first book, the devotional Growth Lessons in October 2011. After that I’ve published the following books: The Road Home ( June 2012), Season’s Greetings from Amelia (December 2012), A Brother’s Vow (October 2013)

Friends and family have followed my writing journey, but they have questions and comments, and truly Facebook doesn’t give me enough space to express all I want. I also felt in my heart that if I could every so often put out there some of the inspiration and words of encouragement that I receive, I could share them with you and who knows, they can inspire you too. That’s the reason for this blog!   All I ask is that if in any way anything you read in this blog touches your life, tell someone to join our rising muse community. To contact me you can do so at therisingmuse@gmail.com

God bless you!

Naty Matos
